The Working 2 Walk (W2W) Science and Advocacy Symposium is coming to Cleveland! This symposium is organized by Unite 2 Fight Paralysis, an organization led by individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) and their families. Their mission is to empower the community to cure paralysis through advocacy, education, and support for research. Each year they host the W2W symposium to provide education about research and how to become an advocate. This year we at the IFR are proud to share that our partner MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute is the title sponsor of the symposium. Founder of the IFR, Dr. Hunter Peckham, will be speaking about implanted stimulation technologies for people with SCI. Associate Director Dr. Kim Anderson will host a panel of users of various stimulation technologies so the audience can learn from front line users about how technology has impacted their daily lives. The symposium will be in downtown Cleveland October 4-5, 2019. Information about additional speakers, lodging, and event details is available on the symposium website.
